Guides

Short, practical walkthroughs for every part of saving Snapchat media — from copying the link to sharing what you saved.

  1. 1Open the Story or Spotlight video you want to keep.
  2. 2Tap the share icon (the arrow) in the bottom right.
  3. 3Choose Copy Link. Snapchat puts a snapchat.com or t.snapchat.com URL on your clipboard.
  4. 4Open SaveFetch, tap the input field, tap Paste, then start the download.
  1. 1Open the Story or Spotlight video in the Snapchat app.
  2. 2Tap the three-dot menu or the share icon.
  3. 3Select Copy Link — not Share to, which sends the video to another app instead.
  4. 4Return to SaveFetch, paste the link and download.
  1. 1Open web.snapchat.com or snapchat.com and find the public profile, Story or Spotlight video.
  2. 2Copy the URL from the browser address bar, or right-click the post and copy its link.
  3. 3Paste it into SaveFetch and download. Desktop downloads land in your browser's usual download folder.

Download a Story versus a Spotlight video

The flow is identical, but the content behaves differently. Public Stories expire 24 hours after they are posted, so a link copied yesterday will usually return nothing. Spotlight videos stay up as long as the creator keeps them public, so those links keep working.

If a public profile has several stories, paste the link to the exact story you want. SaveFetch matches the identifier in the URL rather than always taking the first item.

Save the audio as MP3 or M4A

  1. 1Fetch the video as normal and wait for the preview card.
  2. 2Choose M4A for the untouched original audio track — nothing is re-encoded, so quality is identical to the source.
  3. 3Choose MP3 when you need maximum compatibility. Conversion happens in your browser, so keep the tab open until the progress bar finishes.

Share a saved clip

  1. 1After a successful fetch, use the share action to create a short watch link.
  2. 2Send that link through WhatsApp or any other app — it opens a clean playback page with a proper preview card.
  3. 3Share links expire after 30 days without activity, so save the file itself if you want to keep it permanently.

Before you download

Only save content that is genuinely public, and treat other people's snaps with the same care you would want for your own. Reposting someone else's video without permission can breach their rights as well as Snapchat's terms.
